Netflix denies Apple a quarter of a billion dollars a year
Netflix has decided to change its strategy for the Apple Store, leaving Apple with more than $ 250 million a year.
NetClix has stopped globally the ability for new users to sign up and subscribe to the video service through its iOS-compatible application, according to the TechCrunch report, based on Century Tower figures.
The move means Apple lost millions of dollars of Netflix income through the application, and Apple's 2018 share is $ 256 million. Netflix's revenue from the iOS application was only $ 853 million last year.
Altogether, AppStore has made more than $ 1.5 billion in subscriptions through its subscriptions, which means that Apple's share of this money exceeds $ 450 million, according to Century Tower.
TechCrunch downgraded SENSOR Tower's estimate, saying Apple was charging 30 percent of the value of application-based transactions in the first year alone, and 15 percent less than the year after the first year.
Netflix is the most money-free (non-gaming) game in the history of the Store Store.
Earlier, Netflix made a similar move with Google Play.
