Cats "blindfolded" two Turk .. and the case of "bacillus on perception"

In two cases that aroused interest in Turkey, a parasite in cats kills two girls, one of whom loves cats and the other fears, with varying degrees of blindness.

One of the girls, from Izmir province in western Turkey, was named Gezim Yelgin, a 26-year-old chemical specialist, while the other 24-year-old girl, a beauty expert, was not identified.

According to the information, the two girls were picked up by the toxoplasmosis or gonadis, a parasite whose primary host is the cat and is spread by its stools.

Yelgin lost sight in her right eye, noting that she could not see clearly in the beauty salon, as the cosmetician noted, noting that she no longer saw a professional training session.

After a review of the Pozayka educational hospital, the two girls were found to have parasitic infection in cats, and they may have been infected by feces of cats, according to the Turkish newspaper Daily Hurriyet.

Yelgin acknowledged that she liked cats and sometimes did not care when stray animals fainted.
"I've lost 80 percent of the vision in my eyes and I've had a hard time psychologically, but now I'm anxious to wash my hands after petting the cats," Yelgin said.

The second girl, in a state of incomprehension, said she feared cats and did not catches a cat in her life, but she may have eaten from a dish perhaps touched by a stray cat.

She lost sight of one of her eyes completely, while she could only see the light in her other eye, noting that she had not heard of the disease cats transmitted to humans.

The doctor at Boziac Hospital, Bora Yucel, said the cats had also crossed the sheep and cows, so raw meat should not be eaten.

He added that cats should not be kissed, pointing out that despite the strength of the human immune system, it contains some imbalance, as in these cases, noting that even with the availability of medical options, can not restore the lost cells.
