Breakthrough "personal data" of hundreds of German politicians

The German Radio and Television (ARD) reported on Friday that hackers have published personal data of hundreds of German politicians belonging to major parties.

The data, published on Twitter, also includes addresses, personal letters and copies of identity cards, the agency said, quoting its RBP station.

"The deployment also included details of credit cards and mobile phone numbers for politicians."

The report said that the breakthrough was affected by all major German parties, with the exception of the Alternative Party for Germany of the extreme right.

The motive behind the operation and the identity of its perpetrators are still unknown.
