New outbreak of pig fever in China
China's Ministry of Agriculture Monday reported a new outbreak of swine fever in the southeastern Fujian province, killing 11 pigs at a farm of 5776 pigs.
China has reported more than 90 outbreaks of the disease, which has no known cure, since it was first discovered in early August.
African swine fever is a fast-spreading viral disease that affects pigs and does not affect humans or other animal species.
China reported the first case of the disease in August in Liaoning province in the northeast, with subsequent outbreaks reported in other provinces.
